Do you think Health and Safety can sometimes seem daunting? Come to this workshop which will unpack roles and responsibilities in early learning environments aligned with the health and safety at work act 2015, and key terminology such as ‘reasonable and practical’ and ‘duty of care’. It will explore how teams can come to agree on what is acceptable and unacceptable levels of risk and how to manage these. Discussion will be focused on considerations for creating a safe work environment for adults and children, including key areas such as physical safety, emotional safety, health, adequate staffing and emergency planning. Aspects to include in a risk management system will be examined. By the end of this course participants should go away feeling confident about dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s.
