Join us for an evening with Sir Antony Gormley, the artist conceptualising the human body and its relation to its surroundings, at China Exchange.
Working with the human body, altering its scale and shape, Sir Antony Gormley is widely acclaimed for his sculptures, installations and public artworks that investigate fundamental questions of where human beings stand in relation to nature and the cosmos. Best known for his Angel of the North sculpture in Gateshead, he was awarded the Turner Prize in 1994, the South Bank Prize for Visual Art in 1999 and was knighted in 2014. Throughout the last 25 years, he has won multiple other prizes and has broaden our horizons. His work has been widely exhibited throughout the UK and internationally.
In December 2016, one of Sir Antony Gormley's five life-size standing sculptures, that are part of his LAND-series, found a new home, now enhancing the Sidgwick Site at the University of Cambridge.
