River enthusiasts are invited to Chiswick Pier on Tuesday 27th October from 7pm for an illustrated talk by author Dick Mayon-White on ‘Exploring the Thames Tributaries’.

Dick will share stories and images from his travels along 33 tributaries of the River Thames, from Wiltshire villages and the Surrey Hills to London boroughs and the Thames marshes. Drawing on his recently published book, Exploring the Thames Rivers and Streams, co-authored with Wendy Yorke, he will reveal how these waterways shape the landscape, support wildlife, enrich local history and offer wonderful opportunities for riverside walking.

The evening is a joint event organised by Chiswick Pier Trust and the River Thames Society, with a short introduction to the Society’s work before the talk. Members of either charity can attend free of charge, please register for free tickets using your membership number; tickets for non-members are £5.
