Jamuna Ke Tat Par...

As we sing and dance, Jamuna ke tata para nachata kanhaiya, we tell the story of how Krishna defeated the serpent demon, Kaliya, polluting the waters. Krishna is a superhero environmentalist, diving into the murky waters, facing fear and conquering the demon. Are we Kaliya or are we Krishna?

The performance will feature over 175+ kathak students, Youth Company, and faculty in a beautiful celebration of Yamuna Devi with captivating kathak dance, live music, and drama. Choreographed by Chitresh Das Institute Artistic Director Charlotte Moraga and featuring Ben Kunin (sarod), Nilan Chaudhuri (tabla), Saneyee Purandare Bhattacharjee (vocal), Daibashish Gangopadhyay (flute).
