- Also called "Topsy-Turvy", Twelfth Night was traditionally an evening of mayhem and mischief. Social classes switched roles, cross-dressing, masking and wild costuming was encouraged. A Lord of Misrule was chosen by lot to lead the community in games, and mumming (door-to-door begging in disguise) was common, particularly to ask for bowls of Wassail. (We do all of this!)
*All activities are optional, but we invite all to as much participation as suits your comfort!
CULTURE OF THE YEAR: WALES: Each year we celebrate a unique Christmas tradition from a different culture. This year we'll be featuring the strange and wonderful Welsh custom of riddle-mumming with a bedecked horse skull on a stick. (Yes, you read that right.)
IMPORTANT FAVOR!! If you rolled over your tickets from 2024's canceled Twelfth Night PLEASE still reserve your seats under the "ROLLED OVER" category at the check-out. (We have a list of all those names!) It's critical for us to have a best-estimate head-count to help prepare the right amount of drinks, food and craft materials. If you rolled over tickets, but would like to add people to your party this year, please add those new tickets in addition to your "rolled over" amount. This can be in the same transaction.
Ticket processing fees are included in the ticket price! :)
SNOW DATE!! To avoid the same fiasco as last year, we'll move TWELFTH NIGHT to FRIDAY JANUARY 3 if there is snow predicted for Jan 4. (This was the only availability in the space so we'll rely on forecasting to make the call if need arises again)
