TWO AND A HALF HOUR PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP, any camera

For as long as this exhibition has been forming, the windmill has been the constant. The same place, returned to again and again, through different light, different seasons, different versions of seeing. On Sunday, you're invited to walk that same ground.

Photography, to me, isn't about capturing what's right in front of us. It's about revealing something new — drawing from what it feels like to be human in the world. That's the heart of this walk.

We'll begin in The Neighbours Hall with thirty minutes on storytelling: what it means to look for a story before you look through a lens. Then we'll walk to the windmill and back, an hour and a half of slow looking, guided rather than lectured, with time to read the light and the land before anyone raises a camera or phone. We'll finish back at the hall, where you're welcome to stay and stroll the exhibition itself seeing where this same walk, taken many times over, eventually led.

You'll leave with A Way of Seeing: The Windmill - a printed guide to take home with you.

Bring a phone or a camera; both are welcome, and the teaching adapts to whichever you're holding.

Chlöe Lodge is an Oxfordshire-based photographer with over twenty years of international experience across six countries, and a deep, quiet obsession with the details other people walk past. Her work has been recognised by Nikon and Panasonic Lumix, and she's the author of For the Love of the Photograph. She works like a photojournalist, present without being in the way, and creates like an artist, with intention and feeling. The windmill has been her constant subject for years; this walk is an invitation into the way of seeing that shaped it.
