QWAH: FILM & FREEDOM
Multidisciplinary duo JOMO.WRLD (Tajana Tokyo & Sannchia Gaston) join Queer Was Always Here co-founder Connor Jessup for a conversation about the relationship between film and queerness, coming out and creative liberation, and the (imaginary?) boundaries between different creative disciplines.
JOMO.WRLD (Tajana Tokyo & Sannchia Gaston) is a London-based multidisciplinary duo exploring music, movement & visual storytelling. Years deep in collaboration, their work sits at the intersection of surrealism, animation & embodied performance. Guided by curiosity around consciousness & an obsession with light, they build worlds that blur dream & reality.
Connor Jessup is a Canadian actor and filmmaker, best known for his leading roles in Netflix’s Locke & Key, ABC’s American Crime, and the acclaimed independent film Closet Monster. As a writer and director, his short films have screened at the Berlinale, TIFF, Clermont-Ferrand, and many other festivals around the world. He is set to star alongside Tilda Swinton in Jenjira's Magnificent Dream, the upcoming film by Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
