The Fountaineers in Comrie
Chris's Gigs is very excited to bring the Glasgow based Bluegrass band The Fountaineers to the village. The band is made up of four immensely talented musicians from three different continents, and they have created a unique space of their own within the Glasgow music scene. They formed as a quartet in 2020, during the summer of socially-distanced interactions and since then have gone on to debut at many British and European Bluegrass festivals, and also to release their debut EP.
There is a joke is that Bluegrass is mostly depressing content which manages to sound buoyantly optimistic and which appeals hugely to the human condition. So expect an evening of upbeat fun music, outstanding musicianship, riveting instrumentals and compelling and vibrant vocals.
"You probably don't expect to find a fabulous bluegrass quartet in Glasgow but here are The Fountaineers, a band made up of four truly outstanding instrumentalists who have brought traditional American music to the vibrant music scene of Glasgow" C3lt4trad
Support will be from the Sibellas - featuring the leader of Comrie's choir Earnsong, Emma Neck and her compatriot Ali Pibworth.
