Christmas is one of the most important fundraising seasons in the UK. According to CAF's research, around two in five people were expected to give to charity during November and December 2025, contributing an estimated £2.9 billion. But the average anticipated festive donation fell from £85 to £78.

People are still giving. But winning their attention and inspiring them to choose your Christian charity is getting harder.

So what makes a Christmas fundraising campaign work?

In this highly practical and interactive two-hour webinar, I’ll share what I have learned from creating more than 100 Christmas campaigns for Christian charities in the UK, Europe and Australia.

We’ll look at:

  • how to create a strong proposition for your Christmas campaign;
  • use stories that move people without manipulating them;
  • write copy that gets read;
  • make your ask clearly and confidently;
  • use your Christmas campaign to acquire new supporters;
  • build urgency;
  • use letters, emails and digital communications together;
  • and follow up without feeling as though you are pestering your supporters.

We’ll dissect real Christmas appeals from across the years, the good, the excellent and perhaps a few that teach us what not to do.

We’ll also look at what wider fundraising practice can teach us about relationship fundraising, donor-centred communication, testing and timing. UK Christmas giving data, for example, suggests that the US 'obsession' with Giving Tuesday does not necessarily land very well with UK donors: recent data gathered by Enthuse showed that UK giving on the 1st of December outperformed Giving Tuesday during the festive giving period.

And because this is Christian fundraising, we’ll talk about prayer. Relationships. Discernment. The theology behind the ask. And what it means to invite someone to partner with you in God's mission work.

You are welcome to bring your Christmas campaign, your half-developed idea, or your completely blank sheet of paper.

And I promise you that you will leave the webinar with a robust proposition, practical steps for your campaign, lots of examples, and a clearer idea of how to raise more money for your cause this Christmas.
