Buzzing for Biodiversity: Protecting Hudson Valley Pollinators

Thu Nov 14, 2024 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM The Fuller Building, 12401

Globally and locally, insects are in crisis - but there is so much we can do in our own backyards to support the native pollinators on which our ecosystems and food systems depend. Join Partners for Climate Action to meet some of the unique bees, butterflies and moths native to the Hudson Valley and gain practical tools for supporting pollinators at a variety of scales, from containers, gardens and lawns to multi-acre fields and farms. We'll cover resources for sourcing, installing and cultivating the powerhouse native plants that our pollinators need, and beautifying our homes and landscapes in the process!

Partners for Climate Action (PCA) is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to catalyzing ecological action within the Hudson Valley bioregion. This session will be presented by Ecological Projects Manager Avalon Bunge, who manages PCA's ecological restoration initiatives including PollinateHV and the Hudson Valley Pollinator Action Guide. This thirty-minute presentation will be followed by an in-depth Q&A. Bring your native garden questions for a lively discussion!
