Beginner Lace Knitting with Sandy Terp

Sunday, November 8 | 1:00–3:30 PM
Art of the Woman Fine Art Gallery & Gifts

Join us for a special afternoon of lace knitting with Sandy Terp of Moonrise Lace Knitting, an expert lace knitter and pattern designer who has been designing and teaching for more than 40 years.

For Sandy, lace knitting is more than a craft—it is a way of telling a story. Her designs invite meditation, evoke memories, and draw inspiration from the natural world and the female experience. Working with natural fibers, Sandy combines unusual stitches from around the world with her own original stitches to create pieces filled with subtle patterns, symbols, movement, and meaning. Her unique construction methods help shape the design, with themes of reflection, growth, and journey woven into the flow of the stitches.

A Beginning Lace Knitting Class

In this beginning class, Sandy will guide you through creating a small lace knitting project, making a cover for a small container (pictured), from start to finish. You’ll learn the basics of this beautiful and intricate art form while enjoying Sandy’s knowledge, experience, and creative approach to lace.

The $35 class fee includes all materials and instruction, so you can simply bring your knitting skills and jump right in!

Students should preferably know how to cast on stitches and work basic knitting stitches. If you need assistance, Sandy is here to help.  No previous lace-knitting experience is necessary.

Class size is limited to just five students, making this a wonderful opportunity for personalized instruction and plenty of time to learn from Sandy. Register early to reserve your spot!
