To mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, singer, writer and art historian David McAlmont presents USA250: I Have Some Thoughts… — an illustrated talk exploring America’s extraordinary presence in our lives.

Structured around a series of original digital collages, USA250 considers the music, television, film, politics, books, magazines, advertising and personalities that have shaped generations far beyond America’s borders. Moving between memory, history and visual culture, McAlmont reflects on the ways American ideas, images and sounds have travelled across the world — influencing how we see ourselves and one another.

Part memoir, part cultural archaeology and part visual essay, USA250 invites you to revisit familiar icons, forgotten influences and shared memories — and to consider how much of America’s story has become part of our own.
