Description

Ramadan is the month in which Allāh revealed the Qur’an to His most noble and chosen Messenger. It is a month filled with innumerable blessings, mercies, and bounties. It is the month where the Muslims recite the Qur’an throughout the day and night, and re-introduce themselves to the Prophet who carried the Words of Allah in his chest and spread its wisdom to humanity through beauty, compassion, and majestic brilliance. Allah made it a month of mercy, forgiveness, du’a and multiplied rewards.  The Prophet (peace be upon him) said “On the first night of the month of Ramadan, the devils are chained, the jinn are restrained, and the gates of Hell are closed and none of its gates are opened. The gates of Paradise are opened and none of its gates are closed. A caller announces: ‘O seeker of good, come near! O seeker of evil, stop short! Allah will save them from the Hellfire and that is during every night of Ramadan’.” (Tirmidhi) Ramadan is a perfect time for all of us who have transgressed against our own souls to reconnect to our Merciful Lord.

Our Master ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas said, “The Messenger of Allah was the most generous of people and he was the most generous in the month of Ramadan.” (Bukhari) This is a period of open-heartedness and generosity. It is a period of kindness and compassion. It is a period of joy and happiness. The one who meets this month with an open heart shall  be shown generosity by Allah. He shall have his heart filled with purity, his soul filled with light and his akhira enveloped in felicity.
