Workshop facilitation training and clinic
Learn to run great workshops and facilitate effectively
Facilitating workshops and groups of people is a wonderful skill, and one which so many of our workplaces and roles desperately need. Good facilitation means that time spent collaborating is valuable, safe and enjoyable for everyone in the room.
In this 1/2 day training course you will learn techniques and tools for planning and facilitating good workshops. We will work through exercises to help you create a great workshop and there will clinic time to review some of your own workshop plans, questions and fears as a group.
The session will be structured in 2 sections - workshop and clinic.
Workshop
In the first half we will go over some workshop planning fundamentals and facilitation tips:
- Objectives and understanding your audience
- Structuring your workshop
- Planning activities and materials
- Getting timing right
- Engaging people and working with tricky participants
- Inclusive and equitable facilitation
- Online, offline and hybrid facilitation
- Facilitation tips
Clinic
The second half will be a clinic where participants share a workshop they’re working on or workshop challenge they’re facing and we discuss and work through it together. This could include:
- Shaping a rough workshop idea into a solid plan
- Making sure your timings are right
- Designing exercises for a group
- Reviewing your finished workshop plan
- Talking through your facilitation fears
Discounts and opportunity tickets
There is a 20% discount for groups bookings of 3 or more tickets.
We have a few subsidised or free opportunity tickets available. If you’re Black, disabled, trans, First Nations, not university educated, or if you’re working in the climate space - get in touch.
