- the work of David Grove
- Clean Language, Clean Space, and Emergent Knowledge
- Symbolic Modelling, Systemic Modelling, and other new clean language models
- applying any or all of these in ‘real life’.
You’ll meet leading figures of the Clean Community such as Penny Tompkins & James Lawley, Judy Rees, Angela Dunbar, Caitlin Walker, Marian Way, and others.
There will be a rich mixture of fellow explorers from around the globe: coaches and trainers, hypnotists and Agilists, teachers, artists, facilitators, managers, performers…
If they love Clean they will be there!!

What participants have said about past Metaphorums
"It was delightful and resonated beyond dreams…" Claudia Renchy
"It was such a great event. I learned a lot during all sessions (either really new understandings or confirmation that I already know many things or surprising myself by noticing that I am able to do things/demonstrate behavior I was formerly not aware of)." Frank
"What a feast of Clean treats. As ever, it was rich with connection, learning, and fun. Here’s to the next one!" Jackie Lawlor
Metaphorum is like an international market offering all manner of Clean Language-related wonders and delights, satisfying those who are looking for something specific for their pantry as well as those who simply love to browse its stalls laden with delicious morsels of theory, practical examples, and creative adaptations of David Grove’s work. More than that, it offers all market-goers the option of becoming vendors, to share "what they didn’t know they knew" with others who have gathered for the event. With so much on offer, I am more and more appreciative of the recordings that arrive in our mailboxes shortly after Metaphorum. It means I can fully relax without suffering from “fear of missing out” on the sessions I had to miss. As someone who has attended dozens of conferences over the years, I applaud Judy and Sharon for how they model magnificent collaboration in all aspects of Metaphorum's “unconference" design and delivery. Their latest innovation has been to host several pre-conference online meet-ups aimed at introducing new and old conferencegoers and supporting everyone in developing presentation ideas. The result has been a truly generative event, one brimming with connection and shared leadership opportunities for all.

Virginia McKendry, Phd
"Wow, what an amazing day yesterday. It was great to connect to new old old friends. It inspired me to make a politics video and I am now itching to declutter following the memorabilia session with Andrea Chiou."

Brian Birch
"It was fantastic! Thanks to all that contributed by being there, presenting, extending, preparing, supporting…" Irene Kuhn
"A very special Metaphorum Magic! Co-created at such an important time for such valuable connection, curiosity, and collaboration! Much appreciated." Anna Munro Kua
"And what a wonderful experience Metaphorum was. Great thanks and applause for the organisers!" Ronald van Oosten

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Most attendees will have at least some practical experience of using Clean. Beginners are welcome, as long as you are OK with sometimes feeling out of your depth.
This is NOT a taster, nor an event to sell people the idea of Clean.
This IS a global community event to share what you know, what you have learned, what you have created, and what you are excited about in relation to Clean Language and Clean technologies.
This IS a creative event; a place to connect and test and share ideas with others who know or use clean language models and methodologies.
This IS a place to showcase, to get feedback, to crowd-source, to learn, to play, and to have some good clean fun!
The event will run for approximately 13 hours, from about 9 am to 10 pm GMT time.
[0100 – 1400 PDT | 0400 – 1700 EDT | 0900 – 2200 GMT | 1000 – 2300 CET | 1700 – 0600+1 JST].
There will be breaks!
And, of course, you are not obliged to participate in the whole thing.
The lengthy span is to ensure people from around the world can join for at least part of the event.
Some sessions may be recorded, but this is not guaranteed; please plan to attend live and participate actively for at least part of the day.
HOW WE CONNECT
We’ll use a variety of tools to connect, but Zoom video calling via the QiqoChat online portal is the main one.
To attend, you will need:
- a reasonable internet connection
- a headset
- a good microphone\audio
- a webcam
- a quiet place to call in from.
The primary language of the event is English. We expect that there will be some sessions in other languages as well. Using a balance between scheduled sessions and rooms for open space or emergent sessions, you are welcome to propose sessions in different languages too.
