Each talk will be presented online, using Zoom, and a follow-up factsheet will be available afterwards.
The series starts on Friday 5 March and will continue every Friday, 2-3pm. You can book for any of the sessions.
Friday 5 March: Zoom: Learning & practicing the basics
An overview of using Zoom, tour of the interface and hands on practice for those new to the platform or still have questions.
Friday 12 March: Staying safe online
An overview of some of the common risks and how to overcome them, with examples and practical advice.
Friday 19 March: Comparison websites
Get smart about your bills by using comparison websites to research better prices for everyday bills, including utilities, water, telephone and insurance.
Friday 26 March: Making online payments safely
Covering how to pay for goods and services online, what to look out for and how safe it is, as well as the Consumer Credit Act and your rights.
Friday 2 April: Improving your job search online
The tools and skills you will need to help your job search online and give yourself a better chance of employment.
Friday 9 April: Managing money online
Explore some of the different ways you can do banking online from your computer or mobile phone including how to set it up and how safe it is.
Friday 16 April: Family Safety
Covers some of the steps you can take to ensure you and your child are safe online and develop critical thinking.
