Quick Fire Talks: Adapting to a Changing Climate

Join us to learn about what is happening in Lambeth regarding climate adaptation, covering flooding, heat risks, resilient communities, and equality! The event will feature 5x short presentations and networking opportunities designed to provide insights and foster collaboration and knowledge sharing among local organisations and businesses.
Event Highlights:
- 5.30–6 PM Welcome: Start the evening with a 30-minute networking session with refreshments to connect with fellow attendees.
- 6–6.30 PM Presentations and Q&A:
- Andrew Jackson, Environmental Sustainability Manager at Guy's and St Thomas Hospital Trust, will share insights and learnings from developing the Climate Adaptation Strategy for the hospital
- Jedidah Onchere, Community Development Officer at North Brixton Big Local, and Yijing Li, Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at King's College London, will share insights on their MACC Hub-funded Live Project conducting heat risk research with over 65-year-olds
- Jackson Bylett, Net Zero Programme Lead at Sustains Us and South Bank Employers Group, on engaging stakeholders and local communities to reimagine the iconic South Bank riverfront, shaping a shared vision for its future and reducing flood risk
- Keir Oldfield-Lewis, Head of Environmental Sustainability at the British Film Institute, will discuss its new campaign 'Cool-off in Culture' and how cultural venues can drive adaptation leadership for local communities
- Dee Halligan, Founding Director at Forth and First Hand, will discuss emerging approaches to treat climate learning as an ecosystem that belongs to a whole place, with and beyond formal education, and invite the community to make it happen
- 6.30–7 PM Networking: Continue the conversation and build connections during the networking session.
