CLUB WITH NO NAME proudly presents...

RUBELLA BALLET - a little bit of Anarchy in the U.V. - Rubella Ballet were formed in 1979 by Sid Truelove (original drummer with Flux Of Pink Indians, who played on the legendary 'Tube Disasters' single) who after a few line up changes was joined by Zillah Minx on vocals. The band toured extensively with Crass and Poison Girls, recorded some incredible records, two John Peel sessions and supported Death Cult on their first UK tour at the request of Ian Astbury. The NME once said of the band "the Ballet have an appealing sharp edge to their claustrophobic punk thrash, a poppy surge and even a discernable funk readjustment...of course, they could always just be taking the piss" Rejecting the uniform of black favoured by all the other anarcho punk and goth bands of the early eighties, they were soon known for wearing brightly coloured dayglo clothes on stage, becoming known as "The only Neon Goth/Anarcho Punk band in the world" and to this day their stage show is a mess of mind bending colours that'll have you wishing you'd brought your sunglasses to the show...
