Description
Dunsany Nature Reserve, Ireland’s only large-scale rewilding project has been rewilding for over ten years. Dunsany’s approach to rewilding has focused on how eco systems are able to adapt to key species missing from the landscape such as wolves and large herbivores. The Dunsany Reserve approach has seen the return of a number of species such as Red Kites, Otters, Sparrow Hawks, Pine Marten and the Woodpecker. Amongst its many successes, it has also seen the return of various rare plants such as the forest orchard.
