Towards CNS Rapid Diagnostics - Information Day
The University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust will be hosting a training and information event describing our work using rapid sequencing to provide comprehensive molecular diagnosis for CNS tumours in the future. The event is open to clinicians, administrative and managerial staff as well as academic and research staff interested in the application of sequencing for molecular characterisation of tumours.
We will describe the methodology we have used for developing rapid turnaround sequencing targeting intraoperative diagnosis as well as complete molecular classification within 24 hours of sample receipt for clinical research. All aspects of the process will be explained, with input from surgeons, neuropathologists, technologists and more. The day will include a demonstration of the process.
There will also be opportunities to learn about the equipment we are using as well as demonstrations of automation platforms that will be of interest to many.
The event will run from 10 am to 5pm with lunch, tea and coffee provided. Please note that each attendee will need to register through this site. Upon arrival, refreshments will be available in the Medical School Foyer.
Information on travelling to Nottingham can be found here. We recommend using public transport where possible. There is a tram service direct from the station to the medical school.
