The Boyne Valley Camino is a 25k Loop Walk that forms part of the Celtic Camino series.
The walk goes along the Boyne River, through beautiful Townley Hall woods, via two OPW sites, Mellifont Abbey and Oldbridge House, through the village of Tullyallen, along the Boyne Canal, and returns to Drogheda along the stunning Boyne side Trail.
Official Camino Passports can be used to collect beautiful stamps created by local artists en route. (included in cost)
This 25km Boyne Valley Camino can be continued in Galicia by walking the old pilgrim route from A Coruña (the port of landing of pilgrims from Ireland through ages) to Santiago de Compostela (75km) to complete the 100km required to receive an official Compostela.
Your Camino Passport is included in the price this covers printing of passports and contribution to the Camino Society of Ireland a non profit organisation giving back to pilgrims.

Experience the fun, camaraderie and support of walking with like minded people through forest paths and quiet country roads taking in the beauty of the Boyne Valley, Townley Hall Woods, Mellifont Abbey, Tullyallen village and Oldbridge house, as you walk your way and enjoy the peace and beauty nature has to offer.
We will incorporate some mindful walking meditation to help you fully embrace nature and all that surrounds you.
It is a long day approx 5 - 6 hours with breaks, but it is a relatively easy hike on mixed terrain, forest/woods/road and a boardwalk along the River Boyne on our return leg.

Pack your rain gear and sun screen as you never know what the Irish weather may bring.
Bring a packed lunch and water (any goodies you might like to keep you going), there will be a couple of opportunities to purchase hot drinks but a flask would be handy too.
Its also great to leave a change of clothes and shoes or sandals in your car for when you return.

Testimonials from others who "Walk this Way" with my group:
I joined Barbara's walking group "Walk on Wednesday" as a way of meeting new people and to enjoy new places I wouldn't tend to walk alone. Every week offers something new. Its a few hours every week of freedom, beautiful scenery and of course a bit of fun. I love that it is guided because the routes are chosen for you and each week is a surprise. Barbara does the research and I just have to turn up, it's perfect. Tracey, Wicklow
Did the Boyne Camino with Barbara and it was a fantastic day from start to finish. Barbara leads a great walk and so good to walk with. The whole day was very well planned out. Met some beautiful people and had a great day. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of doing it .Gwen Jackson, Co Meath
I had always wanted to do the camino and was delighted to eventually get the opportunity to do it with Barbara. She made the journey very special with personal touches along the way. The choice of hotels and restaurant were very good and always at good standard for 3 stars .The food was always a blessing at end of day . The walks had fabulous views and even though I got down blisters I was able to forget about them and makes most of the culture and views Sikh the way. We even got a few hours to wonder around the shops some evenings. I found the group very special and welcoming and we all had good laughs over nice food and made special time to ourselves too. I would recommend the camino if you are looking for a personal challenger and to meet people of similar interests and enjoy food and culture Thank you Barbara. Ann Marie Mahon, Co Kildare
