Demonstration: Enamelling with Emily Bedford
Demonstration: Enamelling with Emily Bedford
Need help?
Enamelling is a highly skilled technique in which coloured glass is fused to precious metal using heat to create glossy, vividly coloured objects, including jewellery.
In this demonstration, jewellery designer Emily Bedford will demonstrate both how to dry sift opaque vitreous enamel glass onto copper squares to create shiny enamelled tiles as well as how to put metal through a rolling mill with different materials such as lace, card and netting to create textured silver that can then be used to make pendants.
About the Maker
Emily Bedford creates jewellery collections drawing on 20 years of bench experience. In 2022 she began studying the ancient art and technique of enamelling.
