Join this 2-hour dyeing session in Deptford, where you’ll dye your own bandana cloth with natural colour from plant materials found in the local area. You'll take time to explore each material, considering where the plant grows, which part of the plant makes colour, and what colours will emerge. Then dive in, creating colour using plants, dye vats, and printing techniques to create your own unique patterns.
The techniques are simple, hands-on ways to personalise your piece, including string ties, stamping, painting, and overdyeing. All materials are provided, and you'll go home with new knowledge about the colour possibilities found in the surrounding area, and your own freshly dyed bandana, shaped by the seasons!
Our workshops are family-friendly and suitable for all. You will learn new skills, take part in hands-on making activities, and take home a a selection of dyed samples and a bandana.
Children under 10 may need some support from their accompanying adult, while children over 10 are welcome to join independently as parents or carers relax in our on-site café.
Tickets are £20 for a duo (one adult and one child) or £25 for a trio (one adult and two children) to attend together, If you wish to attend with a larger group, please book two or more tickets.
