Large-scale studies by the DevOps Research & Assessment group, CircleCI, Faros and others show an undeniable picture of the real impact on software development of using AI in the process. For the average team, larger batches of changes hitting process bottlenecks like testing, code review, merging and releasing produces slower cycle times, longer delivery lead times and less reliable releases.
This intensive hands-on workshop is the product of 3 1/2 years of research and experimentation in AI-assisted and agentic code generation and modification.
Grounded in the best available independent research and industry data from large-scale studies, this workshop is for developers looking to see beyond the hype and learn underlying principles and foundational techniques for designing and evolving AI-assisted and agentic workflows that produce valuable, reliable software rapidly and sustainably
You will learn how time-proven principles of good software engineering - small batches, rapid feedback, continuous testing, code review and integration - are not just compatible with AI, but essential if we are to avoid the real bottlenecks in our processes being overwhelmed.
After an introduction to C.R.E.S.S. principles for context engineering, you will work in pairs to design your own AI workflow that keeps batch sizes small and accelerates the feedback loops that really matter - with or without AI.
You will also receive a digital copy of Jason Gorman's exclusive book-in-progress, The AI-Ready Software Developer.
Join us to learn how to safely and effectively drink from the code-generating firehose.
* Requires an active personal GitHub account & access to an LLM-based coding tool like Claude Code, Codex or Copilot
This workshop is run from London, UK, and includes a 15-minute break
