FOREST HILL - Game Makers Level 1/2 (11:30am-12:15pm)
Game Makers Coding w/ Scratch | (FOREST HILL make up class)
Hello parents! Thanks for signing up for lunchtime coding this past Winter. We have 1 make up class (as a result of labour action). Due to ongoing COVID-19 school closures, we're happy to offer this remaining class online (optional only. We know this may not work for all families).
Please note: we are offering both 11:30am and 3pm make up classes, as we need to cap class size to 10 students. You are welcome to choose either time slot. Please let us know as soon as possible if you wish to transfer to an online class.
Thanks and stay safe!

Learn how to program (code) dynamic video games using Scratch, a kid-friendly programming language created by MIT and used by millions of budding programmers worldwide. Create characters and backdrops complete with graphic, sound and animation - and you can still work on your projects after class! Coding promotes logic, creativity, problem-solving and math skills - plus grit and perseverance!

CURRICULUM: This is a Beginner's/Intermediate coding workshop for students who are new to coding or who want to upgrade their Scratch skills. Each project includes Basic and Advanced content so children can progress at their own pace. Non-violent video games with all-gender appeal. A new game each class.
TEACHING FORMAT: Class will be taught using Zoom software. You will be sent a link in advance of class for downloading. Online learning requires more coordination and trouble-shooting vs. face-to-face classes, so thanks in advance for your patience! 😊
