If you are fortunate enough to able to give a little extra, please look out for the Donate option on the booking page. ★As part of the Sneem Summer Festival we are offering this Forest School Experience. Join us in the woods for crafts, games, fire, fun and exploration.

What happens at Forest School?

At Forest School we focus on, building community and friendships; building confidence and resilience and nurturing nature connection. Our Core Values are introduced: We Respect and Care for Ourselves, Each other and Nature. These underpin everything we do and are used as a tool to overcome conflict.

Tools, fire and risky play are introduced when appropriate, to challenge individuals. Personal risk assessment is encouraged to make decisions regarding activities, alongside certain safely rules everyone must follow. These include; stay inside the boundaries; walking around tool station; kneel when approaching the fire. Group games and sharing circles are a time for community building and having each voice heard. Nature crafts, foraging and learning interesting facts about all that is nature are all wonderful ways to connect with nature and the world around us. Self-directed play give time for choice and self-regulation.

One of the six principles which underpins forest school states that it is a long term process. So for this reason our 3 day camps are dubbed Forest School ‘style’ as they do not strictly follow all principles which define Forest School.
