Our Featured Guests for December

Sita Magnuson is an artist, entrepreneur, and community weaver with over two decades of experience in the field of process design and facilitation, rooted in the work of Matt and Gail Taylor. She works in deep collaboration with partners to support individual, community, and organizational learning, employing multisensory tools to catalyze imagination, collaboration, and systems-aware decision-making.

Her work spans diverse contexts, from global initiatives involving complex, multi-stakeholder collaboration to local and regional visioning and planning. She is a co-founder of Dpict, and resides in Easthampton, Massachusetts, on Nipmuc and Pocomtuc land, with her husband and two children.

Pasqualina Azzarello is a painter, public muralist, educator, graphic facilitator, and community advocate. Working within grassroots, nonprofit, and academic channels, she works with others to cultivate generative spaces, initiatives, and partnerships that are innovative, collaborative, and inclusive of all participants. Throughout her unique professional path, each experience has been driven by core values, including a profound belief in the creative potential of individuals and communities.

Pasqualina serves as Arts & Culture Program Director at Easthampton City Arts in Easthampton, MA. She also serves as a part-time faculty member at Mount Holyoke College and The University of Massachusetts Amherst and works with nonprofit organizations on projects and initiatives related to youth development, community engagement, and strategic planning.

Focus for our community learning call

Sita & Pasqualina will share the story of the Easthampton Futures Project, an experiment in citizen-driven Planning that took place in the Spring and Summer of 2019 in Easthampton, Massachusetts, USA. The project involved a series of facilitated workshops that invited community members to envision and articulate a future for Arts & Culture in their city (related to the City’s Master Plan). Facilitators—volunteer community members and individuals from Dpict’s global network—designed a multisensory environment and a collaborative process that enabled residents to develop ideas, establish principles and priorities, and work with City officials to help bring these ideas into being. To get a sense of the incredibly rich participatory environment they created visit this panoramic tour of the space.
While this specific project has concluded, Sita and Pasqualina will share the long-term effects of this work and propose possibilities moving forward.

Format

CII's Real World Co-Intelligence (RWCI) community learning calls are held in an intimate and highly participatory setting using Zoom videoconferencing. The call includes a presentation from our guest, questions and breakout group discussions, hearing from Tom Atlee, who will explore where co-intelligence and Wise Democracy patterns are already at work in this project.

At the same time, the calls are recorded so we can share the learnings with others.

Hosting Team

Your hosts for this call will be Andy Paice and Natalia Rogovin
