A musical thriller with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler.
Based on the play by Christopher Bond.
An unjustly exiled man, Benjamin Barker, returns to London to seek vengeance against the corrupt Judge who framed him and ravaged his young wife. The road to revenge leads him to Mrs. Lovett, who runs a failing pie shop. Together they devise a plan that takes them down a dangerous and thrilling path of bloody carnage. Plain Jane Theatre presents an intimate re-imagining of this Tony-award-winning musical, produced with an exciting cast of eight, who bring this dark, witty tale of love, obsession, and murder to life.
