April 11 - CADAC Archery p.m. taster

Event

An Archery 'taster' course run on a Saturday afternoon commencing at 12:30 pm on the 11th April 2026 - by staff and coaches of the Colchester & District Archery Club. The course will provide an opportunity for those considering Archery as a sport, to use club-supplied equipment and be instructed in the basics. The course starts at 12:30 pm and will run for approximately 90 minutes. Note: it is a good idea to be 15-20 minutes early to the event.

Fee

Course fee covering the Saturday morning: £21.25 for Adults and £11.00 for Juniors (U18) and Disabled archers (use the link above to purchase your place on the course). Please place multiple orders separately. Please note that booking fees are non-refundable.

Venue

Colchester Northern Gateway Sports Park just off junction 28 of the A12 (MacDonalds & Park & Ride).

Information

We suggest a minimum age of 10 years for our taster courses, but please feel free to contact us if you have a younger child who is interested. Juniors (under 18) must be accompanied by parents, or parentally approved guardians, at all times when at the club.

We provide all the equipment you will need for the course. Please do not buy any equipment yourselves, even if you are confident that you want to take up archery. We'll offer advice during this event on advancing to a Beginner's course as the next step if this taster whets your appetite.

You should wear comfortable but close-fitting clothing - baggy jumpers and coats are not recommended. It is advisable to wear several thin layers rather than one bulky one. Items of jewellery or personal body piercing that might be caught by the bowstring should be removed and long hair should be tied back. Footwear must fully enclose the toes and the front of the foot to protect your feet from fallen arrows, so please do not wear sandals. Please bring a lightweight waterproof.
