'There Is No Beginning, As There Is No End' Reading Event

Join us to celebrate a newly commissioned text by London-based artist and writer Oluwatobiloba Ajayi, who was selected by Time + Space artist, Richard Maguire, to creatively respond to his solo exhibition, There Is No Beginning, As There Is No End. The event will include live readings by Ajayi alongside Ayoade Bamgboye, Alycia Pirmohamed, and Leo Bussi.

Oluwatobiloba Ajayi is a London-based artist and writer holding a BA in Architecture (Princeton University) and an MA in History of Art (Courtauld Institute of Art) where she specialised in post-war Black British Art. Her research examines representations of architecture in Black feminist art and writing. Her writing has appeared in The Architectural Review, The Brooklyn Rail and Worms, amongst others. She is an incoming PhD student at the Slade School of Fine Art.

Ayoade Bamgboye is an award winning comedian, actor and writer, working across Film, TV & Live. Ayoade is one of the inaugural cast members of Saturday Night Live UK, and her debut show Swings and Roundabouts won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer 2025, NextUp’s Biggest Award in Comedy, and the 2026 Chortle Award for Best Newcomer. The show transferred to Soho Theatre for a sold-out run in October, Netflix’s prestigious comedy festival in LA, Netflix Is A Joke, followed by a UK tour during Summer 2026.

Leo Bussi is a poet and art critic based in Glasgow. He runs a reading series called Waterwings. His debut pamphlet, Life-Sized, came out in 2025 with SPAM Press. His poetry and writing have appeared in numerous outlets including Frieze, Gutter Magazine, Discount Guillotine, Plinth, Des Pair Books, Soapbox Journal, Tentacular Magazine, and more. He has been commissioned by Sid Motion Gallery, Glasgow Zine Fest, and Jupiter Artland to perform and curate readings.

Alycia Pirmohamed is a Canadian-born poet based in Scotland. She won the Nan Shepherd Prize for her nonfiction debut Shorelines, forthcoming with Canongate in 2026. She is the author of the poetry collection Another Way to Split Water. In 2026, Pirmohamed received the Dr Gavin Wallace Fellowship with Creative Scotland and DG Unlimited. Pirmohamed is the co-founder of the Scottish BPOC Writers Network, a co-organiser of the Ledbury Poetry Critics Program, and she currently teaches on the Creative Writing master's programme at the University of Cambridge.
