Helping creatives articulate their ideas, navigate opportunities and build confidence in English.

Studying and working in London's creative and cultural sector can mean navigating a lot of unfamiliar language. From talking about your practice and understanding exhibition texts to writing applications and responding to open calls, sometimes you know exactly what you want to say but finding the right words can be the difficult part.

What we offer

Creative Language Circle
Monthly online session · 30 minutes · £5

A short, informal group session exploring creative language and communication. Each month we'll focus on a different topic, such as talking about your practice, understanding art and design language, creative terminology or the nuances of British language and cultural communication.

Use art articles and exibitions as a way to develop your creative vocabulary. We can look at exhibition texts, reviews and creative language together, unpack unfamiliar terminology and practise describing artworks, ideas and proposals in your own words.

You already have the ideas. Sometimes you just need the space and language to articulate them.

Who is this for?

Creative Language Circle is part of Collective Curiosity, a community initiative connecting curious creatives through culture. International students, recent graduates and creative practitioners who are studying, working or developing their practice in London and want to communicate their ideas with greater confidence.

About Amber

Amber is a cultural professional and educator with an experience teaching English as a second language to professionals, university students and young people, developing tailored curricula and providing 1:1 coaching to build confidence in spoken English. Working with students, researchers, artists, curators and designers through her role the V&A and partnerships with Royal College of Art and British Fashion Council, Amber brings together language teaching with an understanding of the creative and cultural sector.
