November 2025 Planetarium Shows

The Columbia Public Schools Planetarium hosts free planetarium shows the second Saturday of each month during the school year. Planetarium shows begin at 10am, 11am, and 12pm. Advanced registration is highly encouraged due to limited seating in the planetarium theater. Any walk-in guests will be put on a waiting list while guests who registered are seated first.

10:00am - Mars: The Ultimate Voyage - FALL FEATURE PROGRAM
Ever wondered what it will take for astronauts to travel to the Moon, Mars and beyond? On this long journey, what challenges will astronauts face? How will they stay motivated and healthy on their spacecraft so far away from Earth? This new, original planetarium show Mars: The Ultimate Voyage, explores these questions and more as a group of astronauts journey to Mars.

11:00am - Moons: Worlds of Mystery
Moons: Worlds of Mystery immerses you in the amazing diversity of moons and tells the story of their important role in shaping our solar system. Follow in the footsteps of astronauts to our silvery Moon, then venture beyond to unfamiliar and exotic worlds. Journey to the outer planets and their moons, and return home with newfound wonder about the dynamic and intricate solar system in which we all live.
*This show is best for audiences ages 8+.

12:00pm - Dark Skies of MO
A classic, fully live planetarium show featuring a view of the night sky from our 1974 Spitz 512 star projector. Follow along with an expert presenter as we discuss upcoming celestial events, along with the visible stars, constellations, and planets you can see from your own backyard!
*This show is best for older visitors ages 10+. As this show is presented entirely live with all lights out to see the stars, we expect audiences to remain quietly in their seats for the duration of the show.
