George Bass Coastal Walk || VIC

Join hike lead Andy for a guided walk along one of Victoria’s most stunning coastal trails, taking on a section of the George Bass Coastal Walk from Punchbowl Road in San Remo. This 14km hike follows dramatic cliff tops, rolling green farmland, quiet beaches, and endless ocean views. This hike is all about slowing down, enjoying the coastline, and sharing a memorable day outdoors with like-minded people.

🌿 What to Expect

Starting from Punchbowl Road in San Remo, we’ll begin the walk along the rugged coastline, with the trail winding through open farmland, grassy tracks, and clifftop sections overlooking Bass Strait. Along the way, there’ll be incredible views across the water toward Phillip Island, with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos and take in the scenery. 

The track is undulating throughout, with a mix of gentle hills and steeper sections, but the views make every climb worth it. Expect coastal headlands, secluded beaches, and long stretches of trail where you’ll feel completely immersed in nature. This is a longer hike, but the pace will be relaxed and social, with regular stops along the way.

At least 2L of water (limited shade on exposed sections)

Meet at 9:45 AM for a 10:00 AM start

🌤️ Weather & Safety
This event is weather-dependent. In the case of unsafe conditions (extreme heat, heavy rain, or park closures), participants will be notified via email the day before.

Please stay on marked trails, follow the guidance of hike leaders, and take care on rocky and exposed sections.

Please Note: This is a fantastic and very scenic walk, but it is very exposed to the elements from Bass Strait so attendees will need good wet weather gear for this one as conditions can change very quickly. I would advise that you would need a good rain jacket and over pants for this one.
