THE BARISTA
by Arseniy Fariatiev

Days before moving on from a dead-end job, barista Frank agrees to take on just a few more shifts. When he suddenly ceases to exist beyond the confines of the cafe, he and his loved ones are left grappling with what it means to be lost, left behind, or in limbo. A tale about entrapment, ambition, and dissonance, Arseniy Fariatiev’s The Barista marries naturalism, expressionism, and mime in a dynamic exploration of the absurdities of modern life.
