Description
Rooting campaigns and communications in love for people and places that an audience knows well
An open invitation to a morning workshop for those working in campaigns, communications, fundraising and activism to explore the potential that exists in building on people’s deep care for people and places that they know well.
Those who campaign for tighter restrictions on immigration, lower environmental standards, or less expenditure on social security often seem to be very effective at connecting their campaigns with issues that are close to home for most people: love for family, friends, communities and homeplaces. But those who campaign for policies which achieve the opposite often seem to find it more difficult to build connection to people’s love for the people and places that they know well. Why is this, and what can be done about it?
Exploring this situation through the lens of cultural values, and building on close analysis of communications from across the political spectrum, this workshop will help participants to seize new opportunities to root social and environmental campaigns in Benevolence values.
We very much hope you’ll be able to join us.
This workshop is designed for people who already have a good familiarity with the social psychology of values and their application to social and environmental campaigning.
