Building the United Front: Collective Working-Class Power for Change

How do we fight back against rising costs, austerity, and failing services at home and reckless war abroad? By building collective working-class power where we live and work.
It is easy to feel isolated and angry when our services are being stripped to the bone and our bills are through the roof - but working-class communities across Scotland are fighting back.
Join us for an urgent, public panel and discussion on the United Front - the powerful but simple idea that when trade unions, community campaigns, tenants, and neighbours stand together, we are stronger.
The Speakers:
- Alex Gordon (General Secretary of the Communist Party of Britain (CPB)) - Alex will break down the national strategy for a United Front. He’ll discuss how we coordinate our struggles across workplaces and communities to build an organised resistance against austerity and corporate greed.
- Jess Fenn (Membership Officer of the CPB Edinburgh Branch and Community Organiser) - Jess will share effective tactics from ongoing local struggles. From taking on rogue landlords to building genuine solidarity across neighbours and workers to build collective power.
- Chris Cullen (Former Edinburgh and Lothians East Candidate for the CPB) - Chris will discuss his recent election campaign and break down how we cut through the mainstream media spin and build working-class coalitions into winning campaigns.
A panel discussion will be followed by an open discussion and Q&A.
This event is free-to-attend both online and in-person - but signing-up is required for either. An optional solidarity donation is available to fund the event and our ongoing work.
