Food Safety in Youth Club Environments
Many youth clubs have a tuck shop or provide food for club attendees, and also run activities involving food preparation – maybe even holding barbeques or fundraising activities involving food.
This session will ensure you can identify common food hazards, understand the importance of personal hygiene and the principles of food contamination, know how to reduce risks in food preparation, how temperature and time affect food safety.
We’ll cover the mysteries of use by / best before / sell by dates and also cover allergies.
You’ll not only be able to make sure that your young people and club staff can prepare food safely, but you may well change the way you do things in your own kitchen!
This training is available to youth organisations operating in Wiltshire and Swindon.
It is free for clubs affiliated with Youth Action Wiltshire.
Non-affiliated organisations are also welcome to attend; however, a fee of £25 per participant will apply. You can still book a place, and we will contact you with invoicing details.
