ABOUT THIS WORK:

Connecting with the Cycles of Nature through Guided Journeys

Workshop Overview
In this workshop Ali will introduce you to the practice of drum journeying, focusing on the themes of the four seasons. Through guided journeys, we will connect with the energies of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, to help boost mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. .

The vibration and beat of a drum have long been known within indigenous and western cultures alike to have a positive effect on our mind/body complex by slowing down our brain ways and soothing our nervous system, thereby inducing feelings of relaxation. And while we are in a relaxed state we are more able to access things that might be buried in our unconscious mind. This can help us to process things that might be troubling us.

Drum Journey 1: Spring - Renewal and Rebirth

We will explore the theme of spring, emphasising its association with renewal and rebirth.
You will be guided through a drum journey, encouraging you to connect with the energies of spring and its invitation to consider what ‘seeds’ you might want to plant for your personal growth.

Reflection
You are invited to write down your experience, insights, and reflections from the first drum journey. Noting how the theme of new
beginnings can be integrated into our daily life for personal growth and empowered positive transformation.

Drum Journey 2: Summer - Growth and Abundance

We will explore the theme of summer, highlighting its connection to growth and abundance. You will be guided  through a drum journey, encouraging you to connect with the energies of summer and its invitation to cultivate a sense of personal growth and abundance.

Reflection
You will be invited to write down your experience, insights and reflections from the second drum journey. Noting how to cultivate a
mindset of abundance can be integrated into your daily life for personal growth and productivity.

Drum Journey 3: Autumn - Harvest and Letting Go
Here we will explore the theme of autumn, relating it to harvest and letting go. You will be guided through drum journey that helps you connect with the energies of autumn. We will reflect on what we need to harvest and release in our lives.

Reflection
You will be invited to write down your experience, insights and reflections from the third drum journey. Noting how the process of letting go can be integrated into your daily life for personal growth and transformation.

Drum Journey 4: Winter - Reflection and Rest
We will explore the theme of winter, focusing on its association with reflection, going within and taking time to rest. You will be guided through a drum journey that helps you connect with the energies of winter, to explore ways of fostering a sense of quiet introspection, inner peace and wisdom.

Reflection
You will be invited to write down your experience, insights and reflections from the fourth drum journey. Noting how the process of going within and allowing time for rest and contemplation can bring about health benefits during the winter months in your life.

Discussion and Closing
We will conclude our workshop with a discussion, sharing our experiences and insights from each of our journeys.
We will reflect on the themes of how the four seasons can be integrated into our daily lives to boost mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

Ali will close the session  with a deeply relaxing sound bath, allowing you to leave feeling relaxed and revitalised.
