ABOUT THIS WORK:

I welcome you to a space for facilitators to relax and be held with a focus on the joyful nature of facilitation. This will be a space to reflect, experience, question and expand your awareness of your unique facilitation style.

It has been said that,
“A great facilitator brings an energetic signature to any event or group, powerful enough to form and infuse that space.”

At the same time, ours is a humble job where success is seen when our group participants can say  "We did it ourselves".

So we are always negotiating the boundaries between leadership and space holding. Facilitation means to make easy, to allow flow. This means navigating both group dynamics and self perceptions.

As we meet and address each moment in our time together some of the principles that are likely to come up include:

• Understanding purpose
• Serving the parts and whole
• Navigating and deepening the group field
• Group dynamics and maintaining a potent container
• Holding boundaries
• The many qualities of self as an instrument
• Discernment
• Sacred as everyday
• The distinctions between leadership, training, teaching, instructing and facilitating

ABOUT KAREN

I bring many years of facilitating to our time together. Group contexts I have led include special needs housing, corporate consulting and executive coaching, human potential training, gestalt group work, Neo-Tantra sexuality, Goddess archetype priestess development, Qigong and meditation and psychedelic retreats in legal settings.

WEATHER: We will be warm and cosy inside the YURT where we have a wood burner stove, flat-back comfortable seats and blanket. We will also have access to the garden.

Getting There by Bus

1. Take bus 44 or 44A to Balerno village.
2. Get off at the third bus stop after the roundabout.
3. Walk along Cockburnhill Road for about 12 minutes.
4. Turn right towards the cottages.
5. We are the 4th cottage, number 5 – the yurt is in the garden.
6. You can also use Google Maps with the postcode for accurate directions.

By Car

• Free parking available.
• Please park inside our driveway so our neighbours have space for their vehicles.

EMAIL REMINDER: You will get an email reminder of your event 3 days before it. Please make sure you add holistic@planetary-healing.org to your email address book or safe senders list. Also keep a regular eye on your inbox and spam folders as sometimes our emails end up there. This way you won't miss out on any important updates regarding your booking.

NOTE: On your arrival, please feel free to let us know your preferred pronouns (e.g. he/him, she/her, they/them) and what name you would like us to refer to you by.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Space is limited, so if for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know asap, so we can free up the space for others on the waiting list. Due to the amount of work involved, donations are non-refundable.

PHOTOS: Occasionally we take group pictures for promotions, reports,  funders, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be in the picture, please communicate this to the facilitator on arrival.
