Woodland Explorers - Family Day

Time: 2pm to 4:30pm   -   Suitable for children 6 yrs old and onwards

Note: Please book ticket for each child and each adult participating. Booking for 2 parent is also fine. Each date needs to be booked separately.

ABOUT THIS WORK:

Join us for a day of adventure and creativity in our woodland! Parents and children will have the chance to work together, explore, and connect with nature through a variety of wildlife-inspired activities. From building and carving to creating art, cooking over the fire, discovering forest creatures, and immersing yourselves in the sounds of nature’s changing seasons, this day is designed to foster bonding, learning, and fun in the great outdoors.

Please bring a snack, and a water bottle, and come dressed for any surprise Scottish weather!

ABOUT DEBORA

Debora is a vibrant, youthful soul with a deep respect for the intelligence and freedom of children. She has always believed that connecting kids with wild, natural spaces creates the most powerful environment for early learning. For Debora, play, presence, attention, and teamwork—combined with the raw elements of the wild—form the perfect foundation for a child's growth and discovery.

ABOUT KARIN

Karin is a holistic practitioner passionate about plant wisdom and helping people reconnect with nature. A mother of two young people, she brings a warm, community-centered approach to all she does. Since 2021, Karin has supported the Planetary Healing Centre in a range of roles, including running family woodland events and offering nature-based wellbeing activities. Her work is rooted in care, connection, and a deep respect for the natural world.

WHERE : Meet at The HUT at the Planetary Healing Community Woodland, Cockburnhill Road, Balerno, EH14 7JB. Bus 44 / 44A. At the village, stop at the third bus stop after the roundabout. From there, enter Cockburnhill Road and walk for approximately 15 minutes and at the V junction turn right and walk for 2 minutes until you see the Planetary Healing sign on your left. Once you've reached the sign, enter the woodland and follow the stream, crossing the bridges as you go.

PARKING: Please park before the 'T' junction on Cockburnhill Road, then walk approx 2 minutes after the 'T' junction following the signs to the woodland entrance.

EMAIL REMINDER: You will get an email reminder of your event 3 days before it. Please make sure you add holistic@planetary-healing.org to your email address book or safe senders list. Also keep a regular eye on your inbox and spam folders as sometimes our emails end up there. This way you won't miss out on any important updates regarding your booking.

NOTE: On your arrival, please feel free to let us know your preferred pronouns (e.g. he/him, she/her, they/them) and what name you would like us to refer to you by.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Space is limited, so if for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know asap, so we can free up the space for others on the waiting list. Due to the amount of work involved, donations are non-refundable.

PHOTOS: Occasionally we take group pictures for promotions, reports, funders, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be in the picture, please communicate this to the facilitator on arrival.
