Goddess Brighde workshop

ABOUT THIS WORK

This workshop is dedicated to the Goddess Brighde offering a sacred space to honour her wisdom, presence, and the rich traditions connected to her. Rooted in remembrance and reconnection, our session will blend practices, creativity, and shared reflection. 

Our work will begin with opening the space and setting intentions, followed by time for connection between the participants. Through storytelling and guided visualisation, we will explore the history and archetypes of Brighde as a Goddess of healing, poetry, and transformation. 

We will then engage in traditional weaving. We will learn a little about the history of weaving; the significance of the eye of protection across cultures and we will weave a Brighde’s Eye using sticks and wool while weaving personal meaning into the process. Drumming and song will support our journey throughout, offering a collective way to celebrate and connect with Brighde. 

All materials are provided, and this work invites you into a grounded and meaningful experience with Brigid at its heart.

ABOUT SHONAID BRIGHDE-BRIGANTI 

Shonaid has always felt a strong connection to nature, spending much of her childhood outdoors, where she felt most at home. As a teenager, she studied Transcendental Meditation and Yoga, which sparked a lifelong interest in personal development and well-being. She went on to study Anthropology at university, drawn to cultures that value nature and traditional knowledge.

Shonaid spent nearly 40 years in education as a teacher and Head Teacher, both in the UK and internationally. She has always been committed to her own learning journey and in creating a safe and inclusive space to support others on their journey.

She has continued her personal and professional development through training in Mindfulness, Sound Healing (including group sessions and work with children), Cacao Ceremony Facilitator and is currently training as a Shamanic Practitioner. Shonaid trained in Glastonbury as Priestess of Goddess Brighde, using ceremonies and meditative practices to support healing and creativity. Her workshops are open to all, regardless of age or gender.

WEATHER: We will be warm and cosy inside the YURT where we have a wood burner stove, flat-back comfortable seats and blanket. We will also have access to the garden.

If however, you are someone who can contribute, it helps us cover core costs that usually are not supported by funders. Cash donations on the day is also okay.

WHERE : YURT: Meet at 5 Cockdurno Farm, Balerno, EH14 7HZ. Bus 44 / 44A. At the village, stop at the third bus stop after the roundabout. From there, enter Cockburnhill Road and walk for approximately 12 minutes turning left following the signs to FREE Company. Just before the big farm house turn left to the cottages. We are the last cottage on your left and will meet you in the yurt at the garden.

PARKING: Free parking nearby. Please park beyond our house so our neighbours have their parking space free.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Space is limited, so if for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know asap, so we can free up the space for others on the waiting list. Due to the amount of work involved, donations are non-refundable.

PHOTOS: Occasionally we take group pictures for promotions, reports, funders, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be in the picture, please communicate this to the facilitator on arrival.
