ABOUT THIS WORK

Cacao Ceremonies offer a gentle yet profound space to open the heart, ground the body, and connect with inner guidance. Rooted in ancient traditions, our ceremony will honour the spirit of cacao as a plant teacher, inviting you into a journey of presence, reflection, and healing.

This session will include a variety of elements —such as an introduction to the history and spirit of cacao, intention setting, guided visualisation, and themes exploring the chakras or ancestral realms. Sound healing will accompany our experience, helping to deepen our journey and integrate insights. Whether you're new to ceremony or returning to the practice, these session will offer you a sacred pause to reconnect with self and spirit.

NOTE: Cacao is gentle but contains natural stimulants. If you have heart concerns, stimulant sensitivity, take medication such as SSRIs or are pregnant please seek medical advice before attending.

ABOUT SHONAID BRIGHDE-BRIGANTI

Shonaid has always felt a strong connection to nature, spending much of her childhood outdoors, where she felt most at home. As a teenager, she studied Transcendental Meditation and Yoga, which sparked a lifelong interest in personal development and well-being. She went on to study Anthropology at university, drawn to cultures that value nature and traditional knowledge.

Shonaid spent nearly 40 years in education as a teacher and Head Teacher, both in the UK and internationally. She has always been committed to her own learning journey and in creating a safe and inclusive space to support others on their journey.

She has continued her personal and professional development through training in Mindfulness, Sound Healing (including group sessions and work with children), Cacao Ceremony Facilitator and is currently training as a Shamanic Practitioner. Shonaid trained in Glastonbury as Priestess of Goddess Brighde, using ceremonies and meditative practices to support healing and creativity. Her workshops are open to all, regardless of age or gender.

WEATHER: We will be warm and cosy inside the YURT where we have wood-burner stove, flab-back comfortable seats, blankets and tea. We will also have access to the garden. 

DONATIONS: Our work is made possible by our funders, supporting access for those facing financial hardship and wellbeing challenges. If that’s you, please book a FREE space. If however, you are someone who can contribute, it helps us cover core costs that usually are not supported by funders. Cash donations on the day is also okay.

WHERE : YURT: Meet at 5 Cockdurno Farm, Balerno, EH14 7HZ. Bus 44 / 44A. At the village, stop at the third bus stop after the roundabout. From there, enter Cockburnhill Road and walk for approximately 12 minutes turning left following the signs to FREE Company. Just before the big farm house turn left to the cottages. We are the last cottage on your left and will meet you in the yurt at the garden.

PARKING: Free parking nearby. Please park beyond our house so our neighbours have their parking space free.

Also keep a regular eye on your inbox and spam folders as sometimes our emails end up there. This way you won't miss out on any important updates regarding your booking.

NOTE: On your arrival, please feel free to let us know your preferred pronouns (e.g. he/him, she/her, they/them) and what name you would like us to refer to you by.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Space is limited, so if for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know asap, so we can free up the space for others on the waiting list. Due to the amount of work involved, donations are non-refundable.

PHOTOS: Occasionally we take group pictures for promotions, reports, funders, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be in the picture, please communicate this to the facilitator on arrival.
