Invitation to Sacred Rapeh Ceremony
With Visiting Indigenous Elders – Scotland

We are deeply honoured to welcome Indigenous elders from Madha and Yawanawa people to Scotland for a special gathering of prayer, healing, and connection.

About the Ceremony

Rapeh (pronounced ha-peh) is a sacred plant medicine from the Amazon, traditionally used for grounding, spiritual cleansing, and opening the heart. Guided by the wisdom and songs of the elders, this ceremony will offer:

• A space to connect deeply with yourself, nature, and Spirit
• Prayer and blessings from the visiting elders
• An opportunity to experience an ancient practice shared with respect and gratitude

What to Expect

• Opening prayers and introductions
• Sharing circle with the elders
• Guidance on the use of Rapeh in a safe, respectful, and ceremonial way
• Time for quiet reflection, integration, and connection with the group

This will be a gentle yet profound experience, rooted in respect for Indigenous traditions and the sacredness of the plants.

Practical Information

• Please arrive 15 minutes early so we may begin in harmony
• Wear comfortable, modest clothing
• Bring a blanket, water bottle, and anything you need to be comfortable while seated
• Fasting or eating light before the ceremony is recommended

WEATHER: We will be cosy inside the Bell Tent where we have wood-burner stove, flab-back confortable seats and blanket. We also have a composting toilet in the woodland. will also have access to nature and hot tea.

ENERGY EXCHANGE

To honour the elders’ time, travel, and wisdom, we suggest a contribution of £70 /£60 or £50. No one will be turned away for lack of funds — please talk to us.

WHERE

Meeting Point: The Bell Tent at the Planetary Healing Community Woodland, Cockburnhill Road / Buteland Road, Balerno, EH14 7JB

Getting There by Bus

Take bus 44 or 44A to Balerno village.

1. Get off at the third bus stop after the roundabout.
2. Walk along Cockburnhill Road for about 15 minutes.
3. At the V-junction, turn right.
4. Walk for about 2 minutes until you see the Planetary Healing sign on your left.
5. Enter the woodland and follow the stream, crossing the bridges as you go, until you reach the Bell Tent.

By Car

No parking in front of the woodland – we kindly ask visitors not to park there.

Please use nearby street parking in Balerno and walk to the site as described above.

WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a blanket, water and if you like, a snack. We will offer tea and cups. 

NOTE: On your arrival, please feel free to let us know your preferred pronouns (e.g. he/him, she/her, they/them) and what name you would like us to refer to you by.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Space is limited, so if for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know asap, so we can free up the space for others on the waiting list. 

PHOTOS: Occasionally we take group pictures for promotions, reports,  funders, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be in the picture, please communicate this to Claudia on arrival.
