Summer Solstice Community Gathering - A Fundraising Event

ABOUT THIS EVENT 

As the wheel of the year turns to its brightest point, join us in the heart of the woodland to celebrate the Summer Solstice together around a community fire. This is a community gathering rooted in the wisdom of the land, where we come together to honour the light, the land, and the living world around us.

Claudia Gonçalves and Mark Halliday, co-founders of the Planetary Healing Centre, bring decades of experience in community building and ceremonial practice to hold the space, guiding the gathering with intention and the ancient resonance of the didgeridoo and the sacred drum. 

The deep, grounding tones of these sacred instruments will weave through the evening, calling us back to presence, to rhythm, and to connection with the earth beneath our feet.

We warmly invite you to bring something to contribute to the gathering — a song, a poem, a prayer, a facilitation of anything you feel called to share, an offering for the Sacred the fire, or simply your presence and your heart.

The Sacred fire will be lit and held safely throughout the evening.

What to bring: Please bring a blanket and something warm to wear as the evening settles. Wear sturdy footwear suitable for woodland. Camp chairs, mats and hot tea will be provided.

As the Big Give campaign week starts, we invite you to support our charity by participating on this event and donating generously. The Planetary Healing Centre needs to raise funds to run life changing workshops throughout the year, therefore we ask for your help. Please donate generously.

WHERE : Meet at the Planetary Healing Community Woodland, Cockburnhill Road, Balerno, EH14 7JB. Bus 44 / 44A. At the village, stop at the third bus stop after the roundabout. From there, enter Cockburnhill Road and walk for approximately 15 minutes and at the V junction turn right and walk for 2 minutes until you see the Planetary Healing sign on your left. Once you've reached the sign, enter the woodland and follow the stream, crossing the bridges as you go.

DONATIONS: This event is a fundraising event to support the Planetary Healing Centre. Card or cash on the day is okay.  Thank you for supporting our Big Give charitable week event. 

PARKING:  Please park near Pirnie Ha' House. From Pirnie Ha', proceed straight ahead until you reach the V junction, turn right and continue walking for approximately 2 minutes. The woodland is on your left. 

WEATHER: Please bring warm and waterproof layers to wear.

Also keep a regular eye on your inbox and spam folders as sometimes our emails end up there. This way you won't miss out on any important updates regarding your booking.

NOTE: On your arrival, please feel free to let us know your preferred pronouns (e.g. he/him, she/her, they/them) and what name you would like us to refer to you by.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Space is limited, so if for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know asap, so we can free up the space for others on the waiting list. Due to the amount of work involved, donations are non-refundable.

WHAT TO BRING: We will provide soup, tea and cups. Please bring a packed lunch and also nibbles to share.

PHOTOS: Occasionally we take group pictures for promotions, reports, funders, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be in the picture, please communicate this to the facilitator on arrival.
