ABOUT THIS WORK
Gathering Your Light: A Winter Journey with Brighde
As the days grow shorter and winter approaches, join us for a gentle evening of reflection, connection and wellbeing, inspired by the Celtic Goddess Brighde.
Brighde’s gifts of inspiration, healing, creativity and inner strength belong to all people, and this workshop welcomes anyone who feels drawn to explore Her story and symbolism, regardless of gender or background.
Together we will create a calm and nurturing space to pause from the demands of everyday life. Through gentle breathwork and a guided visualisation accompanied by sound, you will be invited to slow down, settle your mind and reconnect with yourself.
Travelling in our imagination to Brighde’s ancient well and the Silver Hawthorn, we will reflect on the experiences, strengths and wisdom gathered throughout the year. It is an opportunity to recognise personal growth and resilience, honour what has supported us through times of change, and consider what we would like to carry forward into the winter.
In Celtic tradition, the hawthorn is associated with thresholds, marking the boundary between one place or state and another. The Silver Branch, or Craobh Airgid, is a symbol of crossing those thresholds and moving from one place or state to another. As winter approaches, it offers a fitting image for transition - a time to pause, reflect on where we have been, and consider what we want to carry forward.
Guided by this symbolism, we will create our own Silver Hawthorn Branch (Craobh Airgid), adding small bells to create a delicate musical instrument.
As we make our branches, we will reflect on our own intentions, hopes and the qualities we would like to nurture through the winter. The finished branch becomes a tangible reminder of this time of reflection, while its gentle sound offers an opportunity to pause, breathe and reconnect with a sense of calm and grounding.
You might hang your branch above your door, enjoy its gentle sound at home, or use it as a simple reminder to make space for yourself and your wellbeing during the winter months.
This workshop offers a safe and nurturing opportunity for self-care, reflection and personal growth, helping you reconnect with a sense of balance, connection and inner strength.
It is a chance to step away from everyday pressures, spend some time with yourself and others, and explore creativity in a supportive and welcoming environment.
No previous experience is needed. All materials are provided.
Leave with your own Silver Hawthorn Branch — a beautiful handmade musical instrument and a personal reminder of the strength, resilience and light you carry with you as you cross into the winter season.
