The Big Reset - Candlelit Yin: Restorative and Yoga Nidra

THE BIG RESET - CANDLELIT YIN: RESTORATIVE AND YOGA NIDRA

Step out of the rush and into stillness. This class is an evening of deep rest by candlelight, an invitation to slow down, soften, and come home to your body. 

We begin with gentle Yin Yoga, holding simple postures for extended times allowing deep relaxation and healing to occur in a calm, supported and safe space. From there we move into Restorative Yoga, where blankets and cushions fully support you so the nervous system can let go and the body can rest completely.

The session closes with Yoga Nidra, a guided practice of "yogic sleep." Lying comfortably, you'll be led into a state between waking and sleeping, where the body rests deeply and the mind settles into calm awareness. Many people find it leaves them feeling clearer, lighter and more at ease.

No yoga experience is needed. Every posture can be adapted, and you're welcome to rest at any point. This is not about effort or flexibility. It's simply time and space to stop, breathe and reset.

ABOUT CAROL

Carol Devennie is a yoga and mindfulness teacher with over 20 years experience. She is an expert in cultivating a calm and nurturing space where we can bring peace, stillness and healing to our being.

Please bring: comfortable, warm clothing, a blanket, and a water bottle. Mats and props are provided. Or you are very welcome to bring your own yoga mat if you prefer.

WHERE : Meet at the YURT, 5 Cockdburn Farm Cottage, Balerno, EH14 7JB. Bus 44 / 44A. At the village, stop at the third bus stop after the roundabout. From there, enter Cockburnhill Road and walk for approximately 12 minutes, turn right to the cottages and we are the 4th cottage, number 5. Google map will take you there if you use the postcode.

PARKING: Free parking. Please park inside our driveway only.

ACCESSIBILITY: If you have a mobility impairment and are travelling by bus, please get in touch with us on 075 0443 8763 — we'll be glad to help, whether with a lift from the bus stop or by reserving a parking space closer to the Yurt. Sadly, the yurt is not wheelchair accessible.

Also keep a regular eye on your inbox and spam folders as sometimes our emails end up there. This way you won't miss out on any important updates regarding your booking.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Space is limited, so if for any reason you need to cancel, please let us know asap, so we can free up the space for others on the waiting list. Due to the amount of work involved, donations are non-refundable.

PHOTOS: Occasionally we take group pictures for promotions, reports, funders, newsletter and social media. If you would prefer not to be in the picture, please communicate this to the facilitator on arrival.
