ABOUT THIS WORK
The Wellbeing garden project provides opportunities for people to learn about conserving the balance of the current surroundings, food growing skills, connect with community, strengthen the connection with nature, improve mental health and wellbeing and build resilience for the benefit of the community and the environment.
28th April: observing your surroundings in nature; learning about the seasons; identifying shrubs and vegetation; soil preparation- where to plant seeds or plants; learning about composting; making and discussing a seed planner; reviewing upcoming activities.
05th May: preparation and finding suitable spots to plant and seed; sharing the experience with other participants; learning how to maintain plants and seeds.
19th May: evaluating the growth of sprouted seeds; observing and identifying other growing plants in the woodland; foraging in the woodland - learning about safe species to forage; talking and sharing with other participants.
30th June: evaluating the growth of sprouted seeds; learning how to maintain growth; talking and sharing with other participants.
NOTE: If you have children at school in the morning and therefore you might be late, that is absolutely fine. The intention is for this work to help you to unwind, relax, slow down and connect with nature.
