Creative Community Picnic among the trees
Creative Community Picnic among the trees
Share this event
Join us for a relaxed afternoon of community and creativity amongst the trees of Hedgemead Park.
We will use the time to slow down and connect with each other and the living world around us. Have a go at some simple weaving with willow, working with this beautiful natural material to create leaves. Use mindful drawing techniques & natural materials to notice and engage with the trees and plants in the park. Create collective poetry inspired by our surroundings (we'll be joined by Caroline Harris, artist and poet Instagram @carolineyolande).
There will be lots of time to connect with likeminded people, and together think about how we can transform our urban area into a haven for wildlife and community.
Free to join, please book a ticket so that we have an idea of numbers.
Bring your own picnic, and a picnic rug if you have one. We will bring some refreshments to share.
All welcome, children to be accompanied by a parent or carer.
We'll locate ourselves on the grass below the bandstand.
There is step free access to the park via the entrance on Lansdown Road. If you have any accessibility requirements please let us know, we'd be very happy to help.
There are no public toilets in the park. We will check which toilets can be accessed on the day.
