Health Counts is a health and wellbeing survey conducted once every decade in Brighton and Hove to inform policy. It provides important evidence of health inequalities in parts of the city and faced by particular groups including:
- Black and Ethnic Minority communities
- Gypsy, Roma, and Irish Travellers
- Young people
- TNBI and LGBQ+ people
- People in high deprivation areas
- People with disabilities (physical, sensory, long-term)
- People with learning differences, autism, mental health conditions
- People in temporary, emergency, or insecure housing
The Brighton & Hove City Council Public Health team commissioned the University of Brighton, with Brighton & Sussex Medical School, to led the research in collaboration with Brighton & Hove City Council, NHS Sussex, Healthwatch and Brighton & Hove Federation.
Join us for our next Health & Social Care Network event to learn about the latest Health Counts findings and what it means for you as an organisation focused on health and social care outcomes in Brighton & Hove. There will be an interactive workshop with the opportunity to reflect on Health Counts findings, discuss with your peers and contribute to developing local priorities based the Health Counts data.
This evidence feeds into the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) and local Public Health, Council and NHS strategies to improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities.

- 1pm - Registration and Networking Lunch (please bring your own lunch)
