Description
Welcome to the ESA GTIF Stakeholder Workshop!
Join us for a half-day filled with insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and innovative ideas. This in-person event will be held at University College London, bringing together stakeholders from various government sectors, industries and NGO's to collaborate and share their expertise.
Some information about the GTIF Project.
The global climate and sustainability crisis poses unprecedented challenges to humanity. Transitioning the global economy and societies towards a carbon neutral future, establishing a sustainable use of natural resources and ecosystems are key challenges that need to be addressed at various levels (e.g., policies, technology & innovation, culture & livelihoods) to succeed. This is known as the Green Transition and the provision of information systems and services as the Green Transition Information Factory (GTIF). We are looking at using Earth Observation to explore 5 key use cases across energy, mobility, sustainable cities, food systems, and carbon accounting as part of a European Space Agency project. Our focus is on the UK, Ireland and France.
Please take a look at the following demonstrator project for Austria which ESA funded last year prior to the 3 new Kickstarter projects, of which UKIF is focused on land and atmosphere.
